God Watches Over Me ~ I Never Knew

This Is Your Life

Remember the television program, This Is Your Life?  I barely remember the show.  I remember the host would show pictures and reveal moments of the past in the person’s life the show was featuring.  Maybe not when we are young or middle aged but, when we get older, most people look back at their life and reminisce. Now don’t start thinking I’m some old fuddy duddy who is living in the past, I’m not. I’m not even old yet.

Think back to your childhood and ask yourself, Was life easier?  Did I ever think about God?  If I look hard, can I see God working in my life or with me when I was real young? I believe everyone, if they are honest and really look hard at their life, they will see a loving God guiding their footsteps.

I remember I was really angry with one of my sisters one day; after all, her finger nails seemed to be a foot long and she would gouge me when she got angry.  I guess she never liked my making fun of her or teasing her so she would come after me with those spike nails.  One afternoon, she walked off the old country farmhouse porch into the front yard.  I was so upset, I threw something at her, hoping I would hit her. I missed, or at least that what I thought then.  Now I see God’s hand moving that screwdriver to the side so it would miss.  I must have been eight or nine and she was one year older.

Did you ever fight or argue with your siblings? Can you look back and think, gee z, if this or that would have happened, it would have marked them (or me) for life? Then ask yourself, did God use a parent to stop you from ruining your life or maybe, as in my case, God himself intervened.  When the screwdriver left my hand, I had no idea God was watching over my sister and me, but I’m glad he was faithful.

For tomorrow, I have a question for you to think about. What did you collect when you were a teenager? You’ll never believe what I collected, but you’ll have to catch me tomorrow to find out.
